from our principal

Dear St. Mary’s Catholic School Families,

As we approach the season of Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to reflect on the blessings we share as a school community. Here at St. Mary’s, we are more than just a place of learning—we are a family rooted in faith, service, and love. In the words of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, “The way you help heal the world is you start with your own family.”

This season reminds us of the importance of gratitude, and I am deeply thankful for:

  • Our Students: Their energy, curiosity, and joy inspire us each day. They are the heart of our mission.

  • Our Families: Your unwavering support, partnership, and involvement strengthen our community and allow us to nurture faith and excellence in education.

  • Our Faculty and Staff: Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to fostering growth in both mind and spirit ensure that our students thrive.

  • Our Faith: Together, we are called to grow in God’s love, share kindness, and build a community that reflects Christ’s teachings.

Thanksgiving also reminds us of the importance of sharing our blessings; I encourage each of us to find ways to extend gratitude to one another. Please join us in making a difference for others during this season of giving.

I’d also like to share some important upcoming events as we continue to celebrate this season of thanks:

  • Thanksgiving Feast: November 22nd in the Parish Hall. (As instructed by the Archdiocese and our Head Pastor, Father Guillermo, all volunteers on campus must have ADLA fingerprinting and current VIRTUS training.)

  • Food Drive for St Vincent de Paul: Donations are due by Thursday, November 21st. (Each class has been assigned to donate a specific item. Please check class lists)

  • Thanksgiving Break: School will be closed from Monday, November 25th to Friday, November 29th

May this Thanksgiving be a time of joy, peace, and togetherness for you and your loved ones. I encourage you to celebrate gratitude with your families. Let us keep one another in prayer and give thanks for the gift of this wonderful school community.

Wishing you and all of your loved ones a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving!

In faith,

Mrs. Nennette Barriga
